Success in the recovery from eating disorders depends upon tools that can be practiced until they become habitual. Obsessions around food can be healed,  allowing social and emotional development to resume at a healthy pace in adolescents.

Strategies for portion control replace unhelpful impulses with opportunities for improved self-image, increased self-esteem, and the ability  to quiet feelings of isolation, alienation, and the academic stresses that can trigger compulsive behavior.
